Having a strong desire for knowledge is one thing-being willing to hear authentic, constructive criticism (and do something about it) is another. To be successful in a career doing web stuff, you have to be continually learning-you have to be hungry for knowledge. HungerĪpplicants who make it to the final interview round all have a tremendous hunger to learn, and they back it up with their own experimentation. We don’t expect you to have mastered your craft, but a fluency in design concepts like typography, hierarchy, and layout is definitely preferred-whether you’ve used them for the web or another medium. Self-initiated projects are always a great way to show that you love the work you do.
